Shur-Gain was founded in 1937, and currently employs approximately 900 professionals. In 2007, Shur-Gain became a brand of Nutreco Canada, which is a division of Nutreco.
Shur-Gain is a recognized leader specializing in animal nutrition. We produce premixes, concentrates, complete feeds, and feeding programs for all major livestock and poultry species in Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada, and also dairy cattle in New York State. We are supported by a very extensive franchise dealer network throughout Ontario and Quebec and have established 13 retail outlets in Atlantic Canada (Feeds’n Needs). Shur-Gain also manufactures and sells pet food.
Shur-Gain is supported by an innovative world-class research and development program. Nutreco operates eight research centres in four countries, including Nutreco Canada’s, 344-hectare (850-acre), multi-species research farm in Burford, Ontario; the largest corporate owned research development farm in Canada. It is our mission to utilize leading edge research from our global partners and bring these innovations and technologies to market as quickly as possible to help your operation.
