Professional accountants in Nova Scotia hold the designation – Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). Legislation to create Chartered Professional Accountants of Nova Scotia (CPA Nova Scotia) was proclaimed August 2, 2016.
CPA Nova Scotia resulted from the merger of the three legacy accounting bodies: the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia (CA), the Society of Management Accountants of Nova Scotia (CMA), and the Certified General Accountants Association of Nova Scotia (CGA).
The CPA designation is Canada’s pre-eminent accounting and business designation.
With more than 4,000 members in Nova Scotia and over 210,000 members across Canada, CPAs provide crucial financial expertise to businesses and individuals in every sector of the economy.
